Martín Solá

Martín Solá is a versatile artist who has gained notoriety in a wide array of idioms, including opera, musical theater, concerts, and film. In 2007, Mr. Solá joined the prestigious New York film, theater, and television agency of Hartig Hilepo Ltd. headed by Paul Hilepo.

Professional engagements for the past season included Coram Boy on Broadway, the New York City Opera productions of Margaret Garner and Cendrillon, his debut with the Queens Symphony in the world premiere of Carlos Franzetti’s children’s opera Gauchito and the Pony, and the Opera Orchestra of New York production of Verdi’s I due Foscari in Carnegie Hall. Mr. Solá also participated in the reading of the new musical Lizan by Bil Wright and Alden Terry.

Mr. Solá’s impressive and numerous stage credits extend beyond musical theater to include various opera companies and festivals, including the New York City Opera, Spoleto Festival (Italy), and Bregenz Festival (Austria).

In addition to performances on the lyric stage, Mr. Solá has been involved in a variety of exciting projects that demonstrate his versatility. He starred in the independent short film Sabado Morning, written and directed by the young Puerto Rican filmmaker Ramon Ricard. Mr. Solá is also committed to performing songs from the Spanish and Latino repertoire. His first album, Amor y Desengaño (Love and Betrayal), is a collaboration with guitarist Oren Fader and is a tribute to the late Gilberto Monroig, one of the most cherished singers of Puerto Rico.
